| Queeny Park Equestrian Events wants to be your friendly hometown event, with confidence–building tracks that challenge and encourage both riders and their mounts! Due to our public park location and its restrictions, we have found our niche as a fun Horse Trial where many levels of riders can really enjoy themselves over a lovely course. For now, we have suspended the Intermediate track, as we have found that it is better for St. Louis to foster the sport from the grassroots through Preliminary, rather than try to attract the upper levels. We feel that with our courses we can really help the competitor reach their competition goals safely and confidently, and give them a run worth their money as they progress through the levels. Queeny Park Horse Trials is the place you'll find where the course will provide a nice season opener for you and your horse, as well as an event where you can qualify for the AECs early in the season! The courses were redesigned by Julie Zapapas of Jumping Branch Farm from Aiken, South Carolina in the summer of 2008. Julie is a competitor, course builder and organizer, so her unique perspective is vital to our course. She has redesigned the courses to have start and finish closer to each other. She has also added some fun challenges to the course, such as a flowing full coffin on Preliminary, to a forward–riding Trakehner on Novice. Every year, we try to do something to keep Queeny Park's Cross–country course fresh and exciting. This year, you'll see some track changes, as well as rearrangement of the jumps and several new fences at all levels. As Mr. John Williams said while designing our now–retired Intermediate course, "This field is what a cross country course should be ridden on." We hope you agree!! We are lucky to have Chris Owens as our builder for both portable and permanent jumps for all levels at the QPEE Horse Trials. Chris has built extensively all over the U.S., and his vision and talent are evident in all the jumps he builds. Look for his newly built Cabin jumps on the Novice – Preliminary courses this year! |
